Sultan Ahmed Ali Dinar has continued his humanitarian support across Darfur through the Qadah Al-Sultan Foundation for Humanitarian Works and Relief, with a recent delegation visiting displacement camps in Zalingei, Central Darfur.
The visit formed part of the Foundation’s wider effort to assess urgent needs and strengthen support for communities affected by the war.
The delegation included Sultan Ahmed Ali Dinar’s adviser and representatives of the Foundation. They met local leaders, displaced families and community representatives to understand the situation in the camps and identify the areas requiring immediate support.
Among the main concerns raised were shortages of food, clean water, healthcare, shelter and education for children.
Sultan Ahmed Ali Dinar said the humanitarian situation requires a sustained response.
“Standing with families affected by this war is a responsibility we cannot walk away from. People have lost homes, livelihoods and access to basic services. Our role is to continue supporting them as far as our resources allow.”
The Foundation is currently working to expand its humanitarian activities across the five Darfur states, with priority given to communities facing the greatest pressure from displacement.
The visit to Zalingei also provided an opportunity to assess how the Foundation can work more closely with local and international humanitarian organisations already operating in the region.
“The needs are far greater than what one organisation can meet alone. Coordination is essential if support is to reach the people who need it most,” Sultan Ahmed Ali Dinar said.
The Foundation’s current areas of focus include food assistance, health, water and support for local community initiatives.
Its approach also recognises that humanitarian support must eventually help communities recover from the effects of conflict.
During the visit, displaced families described the daily difficulties they continue to face, particularly the lack of food, medical services and adequate shelter.
The delegation will submit a detailed assessment of the situation to guide the Foundation’s next interventions.
Sultan Ahmed Ali Dinar said the Foundation’s commitment remains focused on remaining present with affected communities throughout the crisis.
“Darfur’s people have carried an enormous burden. Our responsibility is to listen, respond where we can and continue standing with our communities through this difficult period.”
The Zalingei visit forms part of a broader programme by the Qadah Al-Sultan Foundation to strengthen its humanitarian response across Darfur and support vulnerable families affected by displacement.
