At this difficult moment in Sudan’s history, our responsibility must be to protect our people, preserve our country and create a genuine path towards peace.
Sudanese families have endured too much. Lives have been lost, communities displaced and livelihoods destroyed. Millions continue to face hunger, insecurity and limited access to essential services. The human cost of this war grows with every passing day.
I therefore appeal to all parties to the conflict to agree to an urgent humanitarian truce.
Such a truce would allow food, medicine and other essential assistance to reach civilians in need. It would give families some relief from the violence and create space for serious efforts towards dialogue and a lasting political settlement.
I recognise the efforts being made by sisterly and friendly countries, regional institutions and the wider international community to bring an end to the war. In particular, the continued efforts of the United States and other international partners towards securing peace deserve serious consideration and support.
Sudan needs every sincere effort that can help bring the parties closer to peace.
To those who carry responsibility for decisions affecting the lives of millions, I appeal to you to place the interests of the Sudanese people first.
Think of the mothers who have lost their children. Think of the children who have grown accustomed to displacement and fear. Think of the families who have been separated from their homes and communities.
A humanitarian truce cannot undo what has happened, but it can save lives today. It can reduce suffering and begin rebuilding the confidence needed for a wider national conversation about the future of Sudan.
Our country has a long history of communities living together despite their differences. That spirit must guide us again.
The future of Sudan cannot be built through continued destruction. It must be built through responsibility, dialogue and a shared commitment to protecting the dignity of every Sudanese citizen.
This is a moment for courage and wisdom.
I call upon all parties, regional partners and members of the international community to support an immediate humanitarian truce and renewed efforts towards comprehensive and sustainable peace.
History will remember the choices made during this period. Let those choices give the people of Sudan the opportunity to live in safety, rebuild their communities and look towards the future with hope.
May Allah guide us towards what is right and grant peace to Sudan and its people.
