Sultan Ahmed Ali Dinar has continued supporting humanitarian and community initiatives across Darfur during the holy month of Ramadan, with activities reaching displaced families and vulnerable communities in El Fasher, Kalma Camp, Jebel Marra and several other areas.
The programmes are being implemented through the Qadah Al-Sultan Foundation for Relief and Humanitarian Operations, which is supporting communities with food assistance and interventions in health, education and water.
The Foundation’s work also includes assistance for orphans, widows, children and elderly people facing difficult living conditions.
During Ramadan, particular attention has been given to providing meals and supporting families whose ability to meet their daily needs has been severely affected by displacement and the continuing conflict.
The activities follow a communal iftar hosted for Sudanese people in Kampala and form part of a wider programme of community support being undertaken during the holy month.
For Sultan Ahmed Ali Dinar, Ramadan carries a particular responsibility towards families experiencing hardship. The Foundation’s work reflects the long tradition of communal care in Darfur, where supporting neighbours, feeding those in need and caring for vulnerable members of society remain deeply rooted social values.
Humanitarian teams and volunteers have been active in several locations, including Kalma Camp, Nertiti, Kass, Nyala, Tawila, Golo, Zalingei, Jebel Marra and Kampala.
Advisor Yasser Mohamed Moussa Khamis, Director of Qadah Al-Sultan, expressed appreciation to the volunteers and community members supporting the activities across the different locations.
He also noted the historical importance of community service within Darfur and the continuing influence of the legacy of Sultan Ali Dinar, whose leadership included a strong tradition of social responsibility and support for communities.
The current initiatives seek to carry that spirit forward while responding to the immediate realities facing families affected by war.
Beyond emergency food assistance, the Foundation is placing attention on areas that can help families maintain dignity and stability, including access to water, healthcare and education.
The humanitarian situation across Darfur continues to place considerable pressure on families and local communities. Through Qadah Al-Sultan, Sultan Ahmed Ali Dinar has reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining humanitarian support and extending assistance to communities according to need and available resources.
The Foundation intends to continue its humanitarian and community programmes throughout Ramadan and expand its work to other parts of Sudan where support is required.
